AML/CFT Officer

Job Objectives

  • Enhancing the bank's regulatory compliance in alignment with local and international anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) laws.
  • Supervising the effective implementation of AML and CTF policies and procedures within the bank.
  • Coordinating between the branch and the general administration, and assisting the manager and assistant of the AML and CTF reporting department

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Overseeing the AML system specific to the branch, ensuring all transactions conducted within the branch comply with the requirements of the system and the relevant local regulations.
  • Ensuring the implementation of the Know Your Customer (KYC) system, verifying the forms and account opening processes, and forwarding any issues to the AML and CTF reporting department at the branch.
  • The necessity of verifying the documents and supporting evidence provided by the customer by comparing them with the person who submitted those documents or evidence.
  • Ensuring that no customers are listed on local and international sanctions lists by checking the lists published on the official AML and CTF site and reporting any matches to the department.
  • Undertaking only tasks relevant to AML and CTF to ensure adherence to the bank’s policies in these areas.
  • He is dedicated to compliance and combating money laundering and terrorist financing and is not assigned any other tasks.
  • Providing technical support related to AML and CTF for branch employees and associated administrative departments.
  • Preparing a monthly report on AML and CTF efforts and submitting it to the general management and relevant authorities within a 10-day period at the start of the month.

Job Specifications

  • Must possess banking experience of at least one year in AML or CTF.
  • Must hold Iraqi nationality exclusively, reside in Iraq, have a known and permanent residence, and be fully dedicated to this position.
  • Preferably holds a professional certificate in financial accounting, banking, economics, or law, or an equivalent field.
  • Must has experience in administrative skills, analysis, and the ability to handle details.
  • Must has experience in using Microsoft (Excel and Word).
  • Proficiency in using financial compliance systems.
  • Preferably holds one of the specialized certifications in anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing.
